Using Tempo

• Tempo is free to use. You must be 13 or older to make an account.
• Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
• Pick a username that isn't offensive and doesn't pretend to be someone else.

Fair play

Online games are between people. Don't use chess engines, other people, or other help during online games, and don't harass other players. We may remove accounts that break these rules.

SMS Terms

• Program: Tempo Chess game alerts. Texts tell you when another player requests a game with you, accepts your request, makes a move in a turn-based game, or when a game ends.
• Opting in: texts are optional. You opt in on the Me page (and in the Online tab) by entering your mobile number and ticking the consent box. Consent is not required to use Tempo Chess. See how opting in works.
• Message frequency varies with your games, up to 20 messages a day.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• To stop: reply STOP to any message, or turn texts off in settings. You'll get one message confirming you've been unsubscribed.
• For help: reply HELP, or turn texts off in settings.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• We use your number only for these alerts. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

No warranty

Tempo is provided as is. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we're not liable for losses from using it, to the extent the law allows.

Changes

We may update these Terms & Conditions. If we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Tempo means you accept the updated terms.
